211/Option 1:

  • If your child is between the ages of 0 and 17, or 18 if still in high school, 211 provides 24/7 crisis intervention services.
  • Calling 211/option 1 connects you with an experienced mental health professional who can help diffuse a crisis by phone, by conducting an assessment in person or scheduling an assessment at a later date at no cost to families.

Urgent Crisis Centers for Children:

  • Urgent Crisis Centers are now available to families of children in Connecticut who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis but do not require emergency department level of care.
  • These centers function as walk-in clinics, providing youth and their families with immediate access to resources while they are experiencing a behavioral health crisis, such as thoughts of suicide or self-injury, feelings of depression or anxiety, out-of-control behaviors, substance misuse and more.
